Something funny’s going on at the Sugar Factory Playhouse

You’ll die laughing when you come to the Sugar Factory Playhouse and enjoy the hilarious musical comedy “Lucky Stiff”.  Harry Witherspoon (A.J. Longhurst) is an English social misfit who inherits six million dollars from his late Uncle (Gary Rasmussen) from New Jersey.  In order to collect his fortune, he must agree to take Uncle’s body on the vacation of his dreams to Monte Carlo.  You think that’s crazy?  You haven’t seen anything yet.  If he doesn’t fulfill every detail of the will, all the money will go to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn.  Annabel Glick (Elizabeth Abbott) follows him to Monte Carlo in hopes that he will mess up and the entire inheritance will go to the dogs.  Also trying to get their hands on the money are Uncle’s crazy girlfriend Rita (Kate Bedore) and her optometrist brother, Vinnie (Scot Fetters).  Throw in the pushy Italian tour guide Luigi (Vic Groves), and the eccentric French cabaret singer Domonique (Erica Bryce), and you have a menage of craziness, murder and mayhem.  The cast is rounded out by Bob Bedore, Corey Brandenberger, Jennifer Crabb and Petronella Oliver, who each play several roles throughout the show.  The director is Michelle Groves.

“Lucky Stiff” opens March 15 and runs through March 27 except Wednesdays and Sundays.  Doors open at 7:00 pm, and showtime is 7:30 pm.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children, seniors and students and are available at the West Jordan Macey’s or at the door if available.  The Sugar Factory Playhouse is located at 8201 South 2200 West in West Jordan.
