West Jordan Theater Arts presents “Nunsense: The Mega-Musical” at the Sugar Factory Playhouse

Nunsense: The Mega-Musical“Nunsense: The Mega-Musical” is a hilarious musical spoof about the misadventures of five nuns trying to manage a fundraiser.  Sadly, the rest of the sisterhood died from botulism after eating vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia Child of God (Shelby Maughan).  Thus, the remaining nuns – ballet-loving Sister Leo (Sara Roberts), street-wise Sister Robert Anne (Elizabeth Abbott), befuddled Sister Mary Amnesia (Kassidy Gull), the Mother Superior Sister Regina (Jennifer Crabb), and mistress of the novices Sister Mary Hubert (Sonia Maughan) – stage a talent show in order to raise enough money to bury the last of their dearly departed, who are in the freezer.

Come enjoy this production within a production, as the Little Sisters of Hoboken sing “Nunsense Is Habit Forming”, “The Biggest Ain’t the Best”, “We’ve Got to Clean Out the Freezer” and “Holier Than Thou”.

Directed by Debe Jacobs, this expanded version of the original “Nunsense” was created by the same author, has the same hilarious script, the same improbable plot and the same toe-tapping music.  The only difference is that the cast is expanded to include more nuns and more fun.

Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for children, students and seniors and are available at Macey’s Food Store, 3200 West 7800 South in West Jordan, or at the door.

Performances are at 7:30 pm, September 18-29, except Sundays, with a 2:00 pm matinee on Saturday, September 27.  The Sugar Factory Playhouse is located at 8201 South 2200 West in the old West Jordan Sugar Factory, just east of the silos.
