“State Fair” opens at the Sugar Factory Playhouse in West Jordan

West Jordan Theater Arts presents the timeless classic, “State Fair”, June 19-30, 2008 at the Sugar Factory Playhouse.  This popular musical tells the story of the Frakes family and their adventures at the Iowa State Fair.  Abel (Vic Groves) is focused on winning with his prize hog Blue Boy, while Melissa (Denise Gull) is being judged on her famous mincemeat.  Meanwhile, Wayne (James Birdsall) and Margy (Erin Zaugg) find unexpected romance with a singer (Kristin Fox) and a newspaper reporter (Shane Farr).

Come and enjoy the music and romance of the songs, “Our State Fair” and “It’s a Grand Night for Singing”.  You will roar with laughter as the men’s quartet, led by Abel Frake, sings the lullaby, “Sweet Hog of Mine” to their fair-bound swine.

All shows begin at 7:30 pm, there are no performances on Sundays or Saturday, June 28.  Doors open 30 minutes before show time.  Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children, students and seniors and may be purchased at Macey’s in West Jordan and at the door if seating is available.

The Sugar Factory Playhouse is located at 8201 South 2200 West in the old West Jordan Sugar Factory, just east of the silos.
